The first foundation of Canada |
| The Bishop Bourget invited the Sisters of the Good Shepherd to come to Montréal and establish a foundation. St Mary Euphrasia sent four sisters. After a four-month travel by ship, they arrived in Montreal on June 11, 1844. The Sisters established many institutions throughout Canada: in 1875 Toronto (Ontario), in 1890 Halifax (Nova Scotia), in 1893 Saint John (New Brunswick), and in 1911 Winnipeg (Manitoba) |
