Collaborators

  Active presence of collaborators

St. Mary Euphrasia Pelletier, foundress of the congregation held
Mme D'Andigné and Monsieur de Neuville in high esteem.
She considered these beloved benefactors to be the founders of     the Order. They, like many others, had been profoundly helpful to   her voluntairily.

St. Mary Euphrasia had good, friendly relations with merchants and with
the employees of the Mother House. Many of them
acted as witnesses at the canonization proceedings
testifying her spirit of compassion, understanding and charity.

St. Mary Euphrasia had the highest respect for those who, through their
support, made it possible to develop Good Works. "Those who
worked for the house she treated as though they belonged
to the great family of the Good Shepherd.
"

To ensure that Holy Work could be continued, St. M Euphrasia
needed collaborators and found them as employees, benefactors,
and volunteers.

Today these collaborators are very dear to us in continuing the
Holy Work, the Mission, the Lasting Legacy of St. Marie Euphrasia.

     Here are some testimonials:

"I have always been aware of the cause of women and especially women living in difficult situations. My meeting with the Sisters of the Good Shepherd and finding out about their work with women raised my interest.

It was normal for me that I share in the Mission of the Good Shepherd, particularly since their wealth of experience reassured me."

"Why does a person commit to participate in
           Good Shepherd Mission"?

As far back as I can remember, I have always known that         life had favoured me and still does.

As far back as I can remember, I have always known
that to become the woman I am, there were people
around me who helped me along the way.

So a time comes when you feel the need to share, in your
turn, and to say to someone else: "… Take what you need,
        because I have received a great deal…"

By committing myself to Good Shepherd Mission,
I have chosen to give other women, women less fortunate
in life, the possibility of aspiring to a better future."

                  Cécile

"I had the opportunity of taking on temporary employment
thanks to the Sisters of the Good Shepherd and government support.
I was taken in by the Sisters of Acacia House and I work at the
   Blanche Elkan Centre.

The Sisters allowed me to put my previous work
experience into practice, something I had not been able to do in many
years. At the same time, the doors were opened that allowed me to gain new
knowledge on a work level and a personal level, recognizing my skills,
my abilities, and especially my love of service."

                                                                                            Jacques

"These sisters seemed like signposts to me, visible signs of Christ,
witnesses… eternal sun! Whoever works side by side with these women
gains an appreciation of life and love.

Our collaboration went further than producing the radio programme on
St. Mary Euphrasia Pelletier. Today, they are my guides, loving sisters,
and they are a source of consolation for me. I see them all prayerful, happy,     confidant in their mission and receptive to everyone.

I have complete confidence in them and I hope that God the master of us all can make them ever more present for us for a long time to come. Their advice is priceless. It is to open oneself to God's beneficent action in them and to let oneself to be touched by his grace. Yes, these sisters
committed to service to others… are born for Love!"
